Fuel pellets are one of the modern types of solid fuel actively used in special pellet boilers for heating residential, commercial and industrial buildings. They retain heat perfectly and are notable for their high efficiency.
Fuel pellets from straw are distinguished by high dryness (moisture of only 8-10 compared to 30-50 for logs) and higher (about 1.5 times) – density than wood. These qualities provide high calorific power: burning 1 ton of fuel pellets is enough to obtain 3500 kWh of thermal energy.
Fuel pellets are environmentally friendly fuels. Granules are made from the straws of various plants. They are 100 plant-based because they include lignin, a natural polymer that almost every plant contains. Lignin plasticizes during granulation at high operating temperatures.
