TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
Supply of Impregnated Timber Blocks for Supporting Excavators and Heavy Equipment in Mining Operations

1. Scope of Supply
Supply of impregnated timber blocks intended for use in open-pit coal mines, areas with high moisture levels, soft ground conditions, and environments with continuous exposure to water and weather conditions.

2. Material Requirements
Base material: Beech wood.
The timber must be sound and free from structural damage affecting its load-bearing capacity.
The timber must be free from decay, insect infestation, and defects that could compromise structural safety.
The surface must be machined and suitable for industrial use.

3. Impregnation
The timber must be impregnated with creosote oil.
Impregnation must comply with EN 13991 Type C or an equivalent standard providing equivalent performance.
The impregnation process must be carried out using the vacuum-pressure method.
The supplier must provide a certificate or manufacturer39;s report confirming compliance of the impregnation treatment with the specified requirements.

4. Minimum Mechanical Properties
The bidder must provide a laboratory test report or technical data sheet containing, at a minimum, the relevant mechanical properties of the timber.
All reported values must be based on recognized European or international standards.

5. Service Life and Durability
The product must be suitable for:
Use in high-moisture environments.
Continuous contact with the ground.
Use in mining areas and coal deposits.
Long-term exposure to weather conditions.
Both end faces of each beech timber block must be reinforced with galvanized steel plates.

6. Warranty
A minimum warranty period of 24 months from the date of acceptance is required.

7. Quality Control
The Contracting Authority reserves the right to:
Carry out visual inspections.
Request samples for testing.
Reject any material that does not comply with the technical specifications.
