The procurement services of the City of Turku`s corporate administration is requesting offers for timber and building boards to be procured for the use of various service units of the City of Turku for the period 1 November 2023 (target) - 31 October 2024.

The procurement is divided into two (2) areas:

Section 1 Timber (sawn timber, structural sawn timber, carpentry dry timber, impregnated sawn timber, planed timber, moldings, etc.)

Firewood of all categories can have all anomalies and defects, with the exception of crumbly and fibrous rot.
Shaped firewood must have the stumps cut to the front of the wood and a maximum thickness of 25 cm. Logs with a thickness greater than 25 cm will be split so that the shaped wood does not exceed 25 cm at the thick end.
The wood will be dried with a maximum relative humidity of 10%, established indirectly in relation to the weight of the wood.

The color of the briquette is directly related to the sawdust, which is used. Typically the hardwood (oak, ash, birch) sawdust makes briquette darker, whereas light colored briquettes are usually the result of coniferous tree sawdust. However, the color does not indicate any significant variation of quality which is always DIN 51731.
