Firewood must meet the general requirements stipulated in standard STAS 2340/80. The only hardwood variety accepted is beech.

The firewood shall be cut to a length of 50 cm and either split or supplied as whole logs.

The wood must be of superior quality, free from stumps or branches, and show no signs of damage or rot.
